Recap: European Girls' Team Championship Day 4 Match Play
Italy and Spain face off tomorrow in the final of 2018 European Girls' Team Championship.
Friday was another sunny day at Forsgårdens Golf Club. E little less wind in the afternoon than previous days and the course yet again proved to be a test.
The morning foursomes went both to Italy but there was some drama before they could get the wind. The second match were intense with player wearing their emotions on their sleeves. The Czech Republic made it even on the 18th but only to see Emelie Alba Paltrinieri roll in the birdie putt on the first extra hole.
In the afternoon singles the Italians prove to strong for this good playing Czech team and won three singles and secured their third straight final.
Sweden and Spain, the two countries with most championships to their credit, faced off in the other semifinal. They shared the foursomes, and in the afternoon singles Spain came out strong and were up early in a few matches, the Swedish team did fight back but in the end, Spain were the better team this day. Tomorrow they will face Italy for their eight European Girls' Team Championship.

The matches will be decided with two foursome matches in the morning and five single matches in the afternoon. You need to win four matches to win the team match and advance to the next round.

The Format The championship is played over five days. The first two rounds are stroke play qualifying were each team plays six players counting five scores as the team score.
After two rounds the top eight teams goes on to play for the championship in match play. The stroke play will determine the seeded order for the match play with 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5.
The other teams that did not made the championship rounds plays on as well. They are playing for places and pride; this part is also decided in match play.
About the venue Forsgården Golf Club there are 27 beautiful holes of golf situated only five minutes by car from the center of Kungsbacka. The 2018 European Girls’ Team Championship will be played on the Masters Course, a parkland golf course and host venue of the Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour in 1993 and 1996.
