Recap: European Girls' Team Championship Day 2 Stroke play
Italy on top of stroke play qualifying
The first two Italian player out the second day of stroke play shot 65 and 66 and the top position in stroke play was confirmed to Italy.
The Masters Course at Forsgårdens Golf Club was in the morning more scoreable than the first day of play. But midday the wind picked up like it did on day one and birdies were once again hard to find.
Alessia Nobilio from Italy started todays round with a bogey on the opening hole, but she did not look back and from there on she produced eight birdies and not a single bogey. She finished the round with a par on the last and then jumped in to the arms of her coach and team mates to celebrate.
Her score of 65 is a new course record, one stroke lower than Sarah Hricikovas from yesterday. These two, Alessia and Sarah, are also co-individual winners of the stroke play part of the championship, both with total a score of 136 (-8).
After today´s round the top eight teams moves on to play for the championship in match play. The stroke play will determine the seeded order for the match play with 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5.

The quarterfinals will be decided with two foursome matches in the morning and five single matches in the afternoon. You need to win four matches to win the team match and advance to the next round.
The teams that did not made to the championship rounds plays on as well. They are playing for places and pride; this part is also decided in match play. In the cancelation matches the teams play one round with one foursome match and four single matches to decide the winning team.

The Format
The championship is played over five days. The first two rounds are stroke play qualifying were each team plays six players counting five scores as the team score.
After two rounds the top eight teams goes on to play for the championship in match play. The stroke play will determine the seeded order for the match play with 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5.
The other teams that did not made the championship rounds plays on as well. They are playing for places and pride; this part is also decided in match play.
About the venue
Forsgården Golf Club there are 27 beautiful holes of golf situated only five minutes by car from the center of Kungsbacka. The 2018 European Girls’ Team Championship will be played on the Masters Course, a parkland golf course and host venue of the Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour in 1993 and 1996.
